Leonid Meteor Shower, November 18, 2001 as photographed from southern Alberta, Canada. This image is a composite of 6 exposures, each 6 minutes long, tracking the sky. All on Fujichrome Provia 400F slide film, pushed 1 stop to ISO 800, with a 28mm Nikkor lens at f/2.8. The image records the number of meteors over a 36 minute period, though exposures are not consecutive but were taken over about a 90-minute period. The bright area in lower centre and extending to the upper right through Leo is the Zodiacal Light. The Sickle of Leo and Regulus are at right of centre. Reprocessed in July 2022.
