NGC 2547, the Gamma Velorum Cluster in Vela. The bright star is Regor or Gamma Velorum, a superhot blue giant star. Taken from Chile this is a stack of 5 x 2 minute exposures at f/2.8 with the 135mm lens and Canon 7D at ISO 1250. The field is oriented along the Milky Way, so north is at lower right here. The field is roughly the same as a binocular field of view.
