NGC 3766, the Pearl Cluster, at top and the Lambda Centauri nebula, aka the Running Chicken Nebula or IC 2948, at the bottom. This is a stack of 2 x 7-minute exposures at ISO 800 with the original filter-modified Canon 5D through the Asrtro-Physics Traveler refractor at f/6. Taken from Coonabarabra, NSW, Australia.
The wonderful open star clusrter NGC 6124 in Scorpius amid a field of dark nebulas and on the edge of a bright star cloud with red emission nebulosity. I call this the Dark River Cluster. The small star cluster NGC 6192 is at bottom. Taken with a telephoto lens to simulate a binocular field of view. This is a stack of 4 x 2-minute exposures at f/2.8 with the 200mm telephoto lens, and filter-modified Canon 5D MkII at ISO 2500. Tracked on the AP 400 mount.
This is the open cluster NGC 6124 in Scorpius, a beautiful object and field for binoculars. This field is about 10° by 6° wide, so approximating the field of typical binoculars. Note the many dark lanes of dusty nebulosity that winds through this field. This is a stack of 6 x 2 minute exposures at f/2.8 and ISO 1250 with the 135mm Canon telephoto lens on the Canon 7D, and was taken May 1, 2011 from Atacama Lodge in central Chile.
