The field includes Messier 78 at upper left, a reflection nebula crossed by lanes of dark nebulosity, plus the smaller NGC 2071 above the main M78 nebula. This is a stack of 12 x 6 minute exposures with the filter-modified Canon 5D MkII at ISO 800 through the TMB 92mm apo refractor at f/4.4 with the Borg. 0.85x field flattener/reducer. The reflection nebula complex of Messier 78 and NGC 2071 (above) in Orion. This is a stack of 9 x 4-minute exposures with the SharpStar 100Q quad-element astrographic refractor at f/5.8 and the Canon EOS Ra camera at ISO 800. Taken late in the season on March 26, 2020 with Orion getting low in the southwest.
Messier 81 (the spiral galaxy below) and M82 (the irregular galaxy on top) in Ursa Major. M81 is Bode’s Galaxy, while M82 is the Cigar Galaxy. The galaxy at bottom left is NGC 3077 This is a stack of 10 x 10-minute exposures with the Canon EOS Ra camera at ISO 800 through the Astro-Physics 130mm apo refractor at f/6 with the 6x7 field flattener lens.
