NGC 2546 cluster (loose sparse cluster at centre) thru 77mm Borg f/4 astrograph refractor and Canon 5D camera for stack of 4 x 4 minute exposures at ISO 800.
NGC 2547 (centre) open cluster. Taken with 77mm Borg refractor at f/4.3 and Hutech-modified Canon 5D camera at ISO 800 for stack of 3 x 4 minute exposures. Gamma Velorum at upper centre. Dark area of nebulosity is HMSTG144. None of the bright broad nebulosity is plotted on Millennium Star Atlas or Starry Night Pro Plus. Though there are some thin wisps of Vela SNR visible at left top that are plotted. Edge-on galaxy at lower right is mag 12.4 ESO209-9 (plotted on MSA and SN Pro Plus). Taken from Ryder Cottage, NSW, April 11, 2007.
NGC 2547, the Gamma Velorum Cluster in Vela. The bright star is Regor or Gamma Velorum, a superhot blue giant star. Taken from Chile this is a stack of 5 x 2 minute exposures at f/2.8 with the 135mm lens and Canon 7D at ISO 1250. The field is oriented along the Milky Way, so north is at lower right here. The field is roughly the same as a binocular field of view.
