Nebula (NGC 6820) and cluster (NGC 6823) in Vulpecula. Taken Aug 1, 2005 with 4inch Astro-Physics Traveler at f/4.5 with Canon 20Da camera at ISO800. Additive stack of two 8-minute exposures to boost nebula brightness, plus average stack (Normal @ 50%) of two other exposures to smooth background noise.
Barnard's Galaxy NGC 6822, plus NGC 6818 Planetary above it, with 4-inch Astro-Physics Traveler apo refractor at f/4.5 with telecompressor. Canon 20Da camera at ISO800 and 6 minutes. Stack of 4 exposures. Shot from Queensland, Australia, July 2006.
The Blinking Planetary nebula NGC 6826 (left) and the headlight double star 16 Cygni (right) together in the same field. The Blinking Planetary is known for the effect of the central star disappearing and the surrounding nebula appearing when using averted vision. The central star is retained here in this short exposure. 16 Cygni is an equally matched double star. This is a stack of 16 x 30-second unguided exposures with the Celestron C9.25 SCT at f/10 and Canon 6D MkII at ISO 1600. Taken for book illustration use.
