M36, the Pinwheel Cluster, left, and M38, the Starfish Cluster, right, in Auriga, surrounded by a wealth of nebulosity, including NGC 1931 at bottom centre, and IC 417 right of centre. IC 410 is in the lower right corner. This is a stack of 6 x 6 minute exposures with the TMB 92mm apo at f/4.8 with Borg 0.85x Reducer/Flattener and modified Canon 6D at ISO 800. A hazy night but not bad overhead where this field was.
M36 and M38 + NGC 405/410 area in Auriga with 135mm Canon telephoto lens at f/2.8. With Canon 20Da camera at ISO400. Stack of four 3-minute exposures, taken Nov. 18, 2006. Glow layer added to fuzz stars (Median filtered and Gaussian blurred)
M36 open cluster in Auriga with nearby nebulosity NGC 1931 and IC 417. Taken Nov 6, 2010 with 105mm A&M apo refractor at f/5 with Borg .85x flattener/reducer and Canon 5DMkII at ISO 800 for stack of 5 x 10 minute exposures, Median combined. Used Celestron CGEM mount and Sky-Watcher SynGuider on William Optics 66mm guidescope. All seemed to work well.
