The Big Dipper stars near the zenith seen through converging curtains of Northern Lights, March 9, 2016, at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre. This aurora was very green with little of the red tint at the tops of the curtains.

A 360° view of the aurora from Churchill, Manitoba, on March 3, 2016 when the lights started out extensive and fairly bright at the start of the night but then faded and subsided. The camera is aimed just east of due north. The Big Dipper is at centre. This is a frame from a 360-frame time-lapse sequence shot with the 8mm fish-eye lens and Canon 6D for projection in digital planetarium domes. Each frame was 15 seconds at f/3.5 and ISO 3200.
