Comet Hyakutake, from Big Dipper to Coma Berenices with its maximum tail length this night at closest approach to Earth. This was on March 25, 1996, shot with the 28mm Nikkor lens at f/2.8 on Fuji Super G 800 film for about a 5 minute tracked exposure. I also have a 105mm telephoto lens image shot at the same time. Re-processed in 2020.
Circumpolar star trails stacked with a comet-like effect, turning over a canola field in southern Alberta. A stack of several dozen 1-minute exposures with 10-22m lens at f/3.5 and the Canon 60Da camera at ISO 1600. Light is from the waning Moon off camera to the right.
Big Dipper star trails and aurora, taken from home. On Plaubel Makina 6x7 camera with 80mm lens at f/8 and Ektachrome 100 slide film and about 2 hour exposure. Started short exposure of 30 seconds at f/2.8 then cover lesn for a minute to add dots at start of trails. Low level aurora added green glow. Aircraft added dotted diagonal trails.
