The type of sky astronomers love to see at a star party — here we see crepuscular rays and a clear twilight over the campground of Starfest 2011 in southern Ontario, Canada. A single exposure of 1/40th sec and ISO 500 with Canon 7D camera.
Waxing Moon and stars over Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta, Aug 6, 2011. Taken with Canon 5D MkII at ISO 800 and 8mm Sigma lens at f/4.5 for 10 seconds.
The waxing crescent Moon over Vermilion Lakes, Banff, Alberta, on August 4, 2011. This is an HDR stack of 5 exposures at 2/3rds stop intervals to capture the dark foreground detail and the bright Moon on one image. Lights from passing traffic on Highway 1 above the lakes produced the streak at right.
