Venus (above), Aldebaran (below) and the Hyades star cluster in a closeup set into the dawn twilight on the morning of July 13, 2017. A single tracked exposure with the 200m lens and Canon 6D.
The waxing crescent Moon setting over a nearby farm, on June 26, 2017. Shot at the start of a time-lapse sequence, and shot in haste from home as the Moon appeared from beneath an otherwise very cloudy sky. The dark side of the Moon is lit by Earthshine, prominent despite the Moon’s low altitude and bright twilight sky. With the 200mm lens.
A colourful prairie sunset at MacGregor Lake in southern Alberta, on June 27, 2017, with the waxing crescent Moon amid the clouds. This is a frame from a time-lapse sequence, with the 24mm lens and Nikon D750. It serves as a demonstration of a Rule of Thirds composition. Pity it was not a calmer night, for reflections in the water. But the sky was fantastic.
