Comet PANSTARRS C/2011 L4 and the Earthlit waxing Moon, March 13, 2013, over the Chiricahua Mountains, in Arizona, but seen from New Mexico, from the Painted Pony Resort. A 6s exposure at f/2.5 and ISO 200 with the Canon 60Da and 50mm Sigma lens.
The Harvest Moon of September 28, 2012 rising behind a wind turbine in the Wintering Hills Wind Farm in southern Alberta near Drumheller, with the sky lit with the colours of twilight and with the dark band of Earth’s shadow at bottom. This is a stack of 5 frames for the wind turbine to blur the rotating blades but a single image for the rest of the scene. Taken with the Canon 5D MkII and 28-105mm lens, and with the frames shot as part of a time-lapse sequence. Reprocessed in April 2019.
