Jupiter at top, the waning crescent Moon and Mercury (at lower centre) in pre-dawn sky, September 24, 2003. Mercury near its best in morning apparition. Pentax 6x7 camera with 120 format Fujichrome 100F slide film and 165mm lens at f/2.8. Fixed tripod with 1 second exposure. Scanned with Nikon 8000ED at 16x sampling and SuperFine Scan on, with Digitial ICE dust removal on. Taken from home. Notice how Moon is well above the ecliptic line defined by the Jupiter-Mercury line.
Moonb and Venus over Calgary skyline, March 24, 2004. Taken from south Zoo parking lot overlooking Bow River and downtown Calgary. Taken with Pentax 6x7 camera and 55mm lens on fixed tripod. Fujichrome 100F slide film, and about 4 second exposure. Some haze dimmed Moon and Venus. Very little adjustment to contrast and color.
A panorama of Bow Lake in Banff National Park, Alberta on a very dark and clear night, July 17, 2018. The Milky Way toward the galactic core lies above Bow Glacier. Saturn is reflected in the still waters. Bands of green airglow colour the sky to the south at left. I shot this about 2:45 am July 17, 2018. This is a crop of a full 360° panorama consisting of three tiers of 7 segments each, with the 20mm Sigma Art lens at f/2 and Nikon D750 at ISO 6400 for 30 seconds for each segment. I used the Syrp Genie Mini for the automatic camera positioning in azimuth. I stitched the panorama with PTGui.
